The Thailand Cave Diving Project

An Important Archive of Thailand Cave Diving Web site information

Produced by Thailand Cave Diving Pioneer – Matt London

Note – Matt London’s original website www.fullcave.com that documented his work has long since left the internet – however, it is reproduced here courtesy of the amazing internet record archives kept at www.archive.org

Warning: Cave diving can be deadly without proper training and equipment. Please stay out of the caves unless cave trained!

Welcome to the resident site of the Thailand Cave Diving Project! Dedicated to exploring Thailand’s underwater cave systems since 1996!

Within this site you will find a variety of articles and information on cave diving in Thailand and the Hogarthian / DIR cave diving equipment configuration that just so happens to work as well in the open water as it does in the caves!

We also have included cave and cave diving terms, rules and protocols, remote diving considerations including in water recompression (IWR) and the importance of receiving adequate “cave diver” training before participation. We are also striving to impress upon you the immense value that caves possess and the importance of conserving and protecting these extremely fragile resources.

Also in this edition! – Oxygen is still the ultimate decompression gas! We have an excellent excerpt form Kenneth Donald’s legendary “out of print” book “Oxygen and the diver,” also a simulated cavern diver quiz, two cave maps, useful tourist information and “yet another” best-mix re-mix worksheet that assumes “oxygen is at least as narcotic as N2” to add to your best mix re-mix worksheet collection, DIR diving and more! And the best part of all – it’s all absolutely free!

Thailand Cave Diving Project – Mission Statement (2006)

The Thailand Cave Diving Project is a not for profit affiliation of divers dedicated to exploration, survey, preservation, study, raising awareness and protection of underwater caves and Karst throughout South East Asia.

Our web site is very much in-progress. Over the next few months we will be adding more information for education and outreach purposes with the intention of heightening awareness as to the immense value of underwater caves and associated Karst

resources. It is also the purpose of this site to stress the importance of conserving these delicate resources. In the interest of “cave preservation”, members of the Cave Diving Project agree to never promote or use any caves for commercial or monetary $$$ purposes. Where there is reason to believe that disclosure of cave locations will lead to vandalism or commercialism before adequate protection can be established, the Cave Diving Project will oppose such publication.

All members also agree to take personal responsibility to advance the message of cave conservation and safe cave diving to all potential users.
